Google Earth is able to display georeferenced layers that are in the file format .kmz. The purpose of this blog is to host .kmz files containing geological maps ready for viewing in Google Earth. In order to view these files, you will need to download Google Earth to your computer or phone. Then you can download the provided files and open them with the Google Earth application. This is a living document that will occasionally be updated with more .kmz files. If you have a photo or PDF of a map you would like to have digitized, for viewing in Google Earth, feel free to email it to geologykmz@gmail.com.
